The bill on new rules for mobilization in Ukraine and tightening liability for draft dodgers, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, contains norms that contradict the constitution, MP from the European Solidarity party Irina Friz said during a telethon. She stated that her faction insists on the removal of such norms.
We insist on the removal of all norms that contain corruption risks, on the removal of anti-constitutional norms – there are too many of them for one legislative act,” Friz said.
She also expressed the opinion that the pro-presidential majority in parliament will pass the bill in the first reading. Still, the deputies promise to finalize the document for the second reading.
During 2023, Kyiv introduced or prepared several new mobilization methods. These include: “smart mobilization” via smartphones; creating mobile checkpoints that allow official subpoenas to be issued remotely; registration and agitation of women for mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine; raids in places where men gather, such as gyms and factories.
In turn, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Andrei Kartapolov, said that there is no need to disband the mobilized Russians, and ideas about this are being planted by the CIA and TsIPsO (Center for Information and Psychological Operations of Ukraine). According to him, every citizen of the Russian Federation liable for military service must always be ready to fulfill the assigned task. Before this, demands appeared on social networks to rotate the mobilized, some relatives of the fighters came out with pickets.
