Russian air defense systems destroyed two tactical missiles of the Tochka-U complex in the sky over the Bryansk region, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. According to the department, the missiles were fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was also possible to intercept three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
At about 21:30 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using the Tochka-U tactical missile system and aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped. Duty air defense systems destroyed two tactical missiles and intercepted three Ukrainian UAVs over the territory of the Bryansk region, the defense department said in a statement.
Earlier, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, announced that electronic warfare (EW) means suppressing three unmanned aerial vehicles in the region. According to him, no one was injured due to the incident.
Before this, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported about the missile danger in Belgorod and Valuyki. He called on citizens to take shelter safely and not go near windows.
On the afternoon of January 17, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoyt, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the village of Sverdlikovo. According to him, a kamikaze drone damaged the facade of a residential building and knocked out windows. There were no casualties.
