The Texas high school football season is just a few weeks away, and as the 2023 summer edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football spreads across the state, it’s time to reveal the preseason rankings!
Dave Campbell’s Texas Football is excited to announce the early Top 10 in its 2023 Class 3A Division I Texas high school football statewide rankings. The rankings are put together by the staff at Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.
You can find expanded rankings for all classifications and individual team previews for over 1,500 Texas high school football teams in the 2023 summer edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.
For many years, DCTF has been releasing the most trusted Texas high school football rankings in the state. It has also been the official rankings source for the Associated Press since 2019. Throughout the season, the rankings are unveiled in real-time on “Texas Football Today” every Monday at 12:30 p.m
Here are the preseason Texas high school football rankings for Class 3A Division I in 2023 according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football:
- Franklin – Returning Starters: Offense 6, Defense 6 – 2022 Result: 16-0, state champion
- Brock – Returning Starters: Offense 7, Defense 7 – 2022 Result: 11-5, state finalist
- Edna – Returning Starters: Offense 9, Defense 7 – 2022 Result: 13-2, state semifinalist
- Columbus – Returning Starters: Offense 5, Defense 5 – 2022 Result: 12-2, regional finalist
- Malakoff – Returning Starters: Offense 3, Defense 6 – 2022 Result: 13-2, state semifinalist
- Lorena – Returning Starters: Offense 9, Defense 6 – 2022 Result: 7-4, bi-district finalist
- Hitchcock – Returning Starters: Offense 10, Defense 9 – 2022 Result: 11-2, regional semifinalist
