The Braves keep winning in other states, now 16 times in a row. They just won an important game in the Broward County Showcase.
The St. John Bosco team, number 3, from Bellflower, California, won their 16th game in a row in another state. They beat St. Thomas Aquinas, number 9, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a score of 20-7 in a special football event in Broward County.
Aquinas is really good and has won four championships in Florida. The last time a team from another state beat Bosco was in 2017, when Aquinas won 9-3 in overtime.
At the beginning of the game, both teams kicked the ball back and forth. Then, St. John Bosco’s senior quarterback, Caleb Sanchez, threw the ball to Daniel Odom, a sophomore receiver, who caught it and ran for a 50-yard touchdown with 2 minutes and 35 seconds left in the first part of the game.

The score was 7-0 until the very end of the first part of the game. The Braves got really close to the St. Thomas Aquinas‘ 2-yard line. At first, the Bosco team was going to kick a field goal, but then they changed their minds after the Aquinas team took a break, and they decided to try to score a touchdown instead.
Sanchez got the ball and gave it to a player named Cameron Jones, who’s going to play football at UCLA. But when Jones tried to run, he bumped into some really strong defenders. First, Kedrick Burley, who’s a senior, stopped him, and then Bryant Allen, who’s also a senior and going to play for Pitt, tackled him down. This happened right before the first half ended, and the score stayed 7-0.
When the second half started, Aquinas made Bosco kick the ball away. Then, Allen caught the ball and ran it back for 45 yards until he was really close to the goal. After a couple of plays, the Aquinas team scored a touchdown, and the game was tied. The player who threw the ball was Andrew Indorf, a junior, and the one who caught it was James Madison II, a senior who will play for Missouri.
Later, the Bosco team moved down the field and kicked a special kind of goal called a field goal. Marcus Lee, a senior, kicked it from 30 yards away and Bosco took the lead 10-7. This happened in the third part of the game with 5 minutes and 44 seconds left.
After stopping Aquinas from scoring, Bosco went on a long drive. They moved the ball all the way down the field and then Sanchez threw the ball to a sophomore player named Madden Williams. Williams caught it in the end zone, which is where the teams score points, and this made the score 17-7. There were 10 minutes and 19 seconds left to play in the fourth part of the game.
Less than a minute after that, a young player from St. John Bosco named Tay Lockett caught the ball that was meant for Aquinas. This happened with 9 minutes and 37 seconds left in the game. Then, Bosco’s team held onto the ball for more than six minutes before Marcus Lee kicked the ball and got points, making the score 20-7. This was with only 2 minutes and 54 seconds left in the game.
And that score stayed the same until the end of the game. Sanchez, the one who throws the ball for Bosco, threw the ball really well and helped his team. He threw for 340 yards and made two touchdowns.
St. John Bosco’s team has won 2 games and lost none so far. They’re going to play against another team from a different place called Friendship Collegiate Academy. This game will be played at Bosco’s home field. On the other hand, St. Thomas Aquinas will be playing against Fort Myers on Friday.
