Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to discuss with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu information about problems with payments to the families of fallen servicemen during a special military operation, his words are quoted by TASS. During the conversation with the relatives of the victims, the head of state was told, in particular, about the refusal of payments due to confusion with the region of registration, and also drew attention to the difficulties with insurance payments in connection with the death of volunteers.
During the meeting, one of the women present complained that the authorities of the Moscow region refused to provide a regional payment since the deceased was registered in the Saratov region. In addition, sending the request to another area itself caused problems. Putin noted that this happened “not on purpose” and it is necessary to recognize the fact of permanent registration “at the place where the contract was signed – where the person left.”
In addition, the head of state drew attention to problems with insurance payments in connection with the death of volunteers. The meeting participants reported that the SOGAZ company pays compensation exclusively to members of the Bars division. Putin said that this was the first time he had heard about this and also promised to “talk with the company.”
Earlier it became known that expenses for maternity capital and other payments to families with children in 2024–2026 will be reduced by an amount from more than 150 billion rubles to almost 170 billion rubles annually. This follows from the government draft budget of Russia for the next years. The reason for the cost reduction was given as “clarification of the number of recipients.”
