Dylan Stewart, a highly-rated player from Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington (D.C.), has visited South Carolina multiple times during his recruitment. At one stage, South Carolina was ahead in the prediction rankings according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), but later on, Ohio State took the lead.
The tall and strong player, standing at 6 feet 5.5 inches and weighing 240 pounds, is back in Columbia this weekend for an official visit. He revealed his top five choices, which include Georgia, Maryland, Miami, Ohio State, and South Carolina, on Friday afternoon.
After some recent updates in the industry, the Gamecocks are now back in the top position for Stewart according to the RPM. Currently, they have a 38.5% chance of securing his commitment, while Ohio State is at 29.5% and Miami at 23%.
Joseph Hastings from Gamecock Central made a prediction that Stewart will commit to the Gamecocks on Friday afternoon. He expressed a confidence level of 60% in his prediction.
Stewart shared his thoughts with Chad Simmons from On3, saying, “South Carolina has been steady and reliable with me. Coach Shane Beamer and Coach Sterling Lucas have done a fantastic job in trying to bring me on board. I’ve had a good time on my visits there, and I appreciate their vision for the team they are building.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which combines ratings from all four major recruiting media companies, Stewart is ranked as the 7th best prospect overall and the 2nd best EDGE player in the 2024 recruiting cycle. Additionally, he holds the top spot as the number-one player in D.C.
Stewart is ranked by On3 as the number one recruit overall in the 2024 On300 rankings.
Currently, Stewart’s On3 NIL Valuation is $320,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is a leading index in the industry that estimates the projected annual value (PAV) of high school and college athletes. It’s important to note that the NIL valuation does not track the value of specific NIL deals an athlete has completed so far; instead, it represents the athlete’s value at a specific point in time.
South Carolina is working hard to assemble a top-10 class in recruiting.
Shane Beamer and his team achieved a significant victory during the 2023 recruiting cycle when they secured the commitment of another highly-rated five-star recruit from D.C., Nyckoles Harbor. He announced his decision to join the Gamecocks on National Signing Day.
Harbor was the standout player of that recruiting class, just like Stewart could be for their 2024 class.
At the moment, South Carolina holds the 11th-ranked recruiting class in the nation and the 4th-ranked class in the SEC. They already have 12 commitments, with two top-100 offensive tackles, Josiah Thompson and Kam Pringle, being the highlights of their class so far.
Pringle and Thompson are two of the eight highly-rated four-star players who have already agreed to join the Gamecocks. On the defensive side, South Carolina has received commitments from three other four-star prospects: linebacker Wendell Gregory, safety Kelvin Hunter, and cornerback Braydon Lee.
