If it wasn’t for a single year at Wellington in 2011, Andale coach Dylan Schmidt’s beginning in the realm of high school football coaching might have been even more remarkable.
In his initial experience as a head coach, Schmidt had a 3-6 record at Wellington before coming back to his former school to assist head coach Gary O’Hair at Andale. Schmidt took on the head coaching role in 2017 and hasn’t faced a defeat in a regular season game for six consecutive seasons with the Indians. Following a 12-1 season in his first year and an 11-1 finish in 2018, Schmidt and Andale have maintained an undefeated streak ever since.
